A tame week. A blue hour photowalk with Will, exciting developments in the Village, and the ever-present, ever-dramatic summer sky.Read More
Look. I don't know what hot chicken is supposed to taste like. (Other than spicy fried chicken.) I didn't grow up in Nashville eating it, and in fact, I've only had honest-to-God hot chicken one other time, in Columbus, OH. (Shoutout to Hot Chicken Takeover!)
But there's so much hype around it, and there was something really rewarding (if sweaty) about the time I had hot chicken in Columbus.
On the suggestion of former BOF intern Sydney Scaggs, I went over to Hattie B's (the West Nashville location) before I left town. Thankfully, it was almost 4pm, so there was no line and plenty of room in the restaurant.Read More
This week? Nashville.
Work travel has a strange way of making you feel isolated and disconnected. But at least there's still new sights to see, things to eat, places to explore. So here are a bunch of shots from Nashville.

I'm in the midst of a pretty intense bit of travel.
I got back from Moab, spent a work week in the GVL office, and followed that with a weekend at Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) for The Mitty. Tomorrow, I fly to Nashville to do an interview and photoshoot. Accordingly, a lot of my photography has been work related.Read More
I'm posting this a little late because the entirety of last week was spent in Moab, UT, and I hadn't finished selecting and editing images.
I was in Utah for Easter Jeep Safari, which means I shot a lot of Jeeps, a lot of candids, and a few portraits — all for work. But I also managed to get away for some time in Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and just some early morning light.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the week.Read More
I'm sitting in the Terminal A Skyclub at ATL as I write this. On the road for another work trip, this time to Moab, UT, for Easter Jeep Safari. It should be fun. Should. But despite the gorgeous landscapes, it's another week away from home, another week of 12-hour work days, another week of being "on" all the time.
And my flight's been delayed. Brilliant.
But this is not that kind of blog post, so here's just a smattering of photos I've taken the last week. (Actually, mostly just yesterday because weekends and stuff.)Read More
I ended up shooting a lot of food last week — for fun, and on assignment. I find I really enjoy all the aspects involved with food photography: talking with chefs and learning about their food; really looking at their creations and seeing what makes them attractive; and after photographing dishes, sampling the goods.Read More
