Whoo boy. Since we just wrapped up the first half of 2017, and I'm finally in a lull of travel (until late August, at least), I thought I'd take stock and document all the travel I've done since joining Brains on Fire last April. It's a doozy.Read More
I've dropped off this blog for almost two months because — surprise, surprise — I've been traveling. And then dealing with catching up at work after traveling.
(Not that this absence really affected your day-to-day life, I'm sure.)
Here's a short recap of what I've been up to.Read More
This is a story of food, love, and travel in the modern age.
This is primarily about food, tangentially related to travel, and it takes place in the past 2 days, so yeah, I guess it's modern and stuff too. But it's definitely not at all relevant to love. That part was a lie.Read More
This week? Nashville.
Work travel has a strange way of making you feel isolated and disconnected. But at least there's still new sights to see, things to eat, places to explore. So here are a bunch of shots from Nashville.
Plus a few more night photos I grabbed this weekend with Will.Read More
I'm posting this a little late because the entirety of last week was spent in Moab, UT, and I hadn't finished selecting and editing images.
I was in Utah for Easter Jeep Safari, which means I shot a lot of Jeeps, a lot of candids, and a few portraits — all for work. But I also managed to get away for some time in Arches National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and just some early morning light.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the week.Read More
I'm sitting in the Terminal A Skyclub at ATL as I write this. On the road for another work trip, this time to Moab, UT, for Easter Jeep Safari. It should be fun. Should. But despite the gorgeous landscapes, it's another week away from home, another week of 12-hour work days, another week of being "on" all the time.
And my flight's been delayed. Brilliant.
But this is not that kind of blog post, so here's just a smattering of photos I've taken the last week. (Actually, mostly just yesterday because weekends and stuff.)Read More
So I missed last week's update. And the week before that.
I'm blaming it on my recent hellacious travel schedule: Mar 9 GVL >> DFW; Mar 9-12 in Ft. Worth, TX; Mar 12 DFW >> SLC; Mar 11-16 in Salt Lake City, UT; Mar 16 SLC >> GVL; Mar 17 to Columbia, SC, for my little brother match's residency match day. Then back to GVL in the same day for the first round of the NCAA men's tournament in GVL.
And after all that, I had a clusterfuck of a work week dropped in my lap.
(Don't you love when that happens?)
Still, I somehow managed to get a few decent snaps in between all that chaos. Enjoy.Read More
I was in Detroit between Monday and Wednesday last week, and I'm still trying to catch up at work — or at least get into decent shape — before I take off for another week of work travel.
But here are a few images from Detroit. And truly, the city did surprise me. Yes, there is urban blight, but there seems to be a strong current of creative energy bubbling up. There are passionate people pursuing crafts and specialties and celebrating each other for their work.
It actually feels exciting to be in Detroit.Read More
